Franklin Guerrero is the Director of Development for Children International, a leading humanitarian organization-providing child focused development in 11 countries to over 325,000 children and youth. He has traveled the region extensively and has worked closely with individuals, groups, circles and partner organizations in order to secure a bright future for children worldwide. One of the countries that he has focused his attention on development has been the Dominican Republic.
Franklin has published columns, essays and articles in English and Spanish on issues affecting the developing nations, social exclusion, youth leadership, ecumenical and inter-religious dialogue and Latino culture.
Before joining Children International, he worked as a Regional Executive for Latin America and the Caribbean on development, relief and mission matters for The United Methodist Church. He has served as a board member for several small non-profits. He holds a B.A in Social Sciences from Universidad del Sagrado Corazon (Sacred Heart University) and a M.Div from Garrett Theological School the founding school of Northwestern University and located in its campus. Franklin also holds a Certificate in Fundraising Management form the Center of Philanthropy at Indiana and Purdue Universities and is currently working on a Masters of Nonprofit Management (MNM) at Regis University.
Franklin enjoys sports, literature, reading and cross-cultural experiences. He was born in Puerto Rico to Dominican parents. He lives in Kansas with his wife Jenny and son Franklin Gabriel.
